Bomb scare disrupts hospital operation
Police and bomb experts with bomb-sniffing K-9 dogs responded yesterday to a call for help by the management of the St. Paul's Hospital, General Luna Street, Iloilo City.
This, after at least two phone calls were received by a hospital staff on purported bomb left within the hospital premises.
The male caller said the explosives were left on an undisclosed corner with a stern warning and threat.
Hospital security was then alerted as information was relayed to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO). Personal belongings of incoming hospital guests and folks of patients were then thoroughly checked as explanation was made that an order is out for routine security check.
The bomb threat came at about 11 a.m. with police, bomb experts and the K-9 dogs on the scene for over two hours.
Fortunately, the call was a hoax with no bomb found.
