Liberiaga to retire from politics?
City Councilor Erlinda Liberiaga reportedly withdrew her political plans this coming May polls.
Liberiaga recently was floated to run for vice mayor of the local opposition group. With this development only vice mayoral candidate Jed Patrick Mabilog so far is aspiring for the position to be left by retiring Vice Mayor Guillermo dela Llana.
Reportedly, Liberiaga will only support the candidacy of her husband, Atty. Roberto Liberiaga who will run for councilor under the opposition group. The lady councilor will end her term and could not seek reelection as councilor.
Earlier, Liberiaga was invited by the opposition group led by former Mayor Mansueto Malabor and former Councilor Joshua Alim to be their vice mayoralty candidate.
Meanwhile, rumors have it that Alim and former vice mayor Victor Facultad are also contemplating to back out from their political plans. Earlier, Facultad was reported as planning to run for councilor under the opposition party. The two were not immediately available to confirm the reports.
Former Councilor Vicente Gengos Jr., on the other hand, will push through his plan to run as congressman against incumbent Cong. Raul Gonzalez Jr. even if the opposition group has already chosen former Mayor Mansueto Malabor to run as congressman.
