Sale of Pag-ibig foreclosed housing units extended
The biggest sale of foreclosed housing units from Pag-IBIG and other government agencies and financial institutions has been extended until October 2007.
"We are not only extending it, we are expanding it to include non-Pag-IBIG members as well", said Pag-IBIG Fund's Iloilo Branch Manager Ma. Lourdes Uy.
The program dubbed "Magaang Pabahay, Disenteng Buhay" was launched by Vice President Noli De Castro, concurrent Chair of the Housing and Urban Development Council (HUDCC) and the Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees in October 2006 and was supposed to end last April 2007.
Under the program, the housing units are being sold at a 20% discount on an as-is, where-is basis. These are available through a housing loan at an interest rate of 6 percent per annum, with a maximum payment period of 30 years.
"The monthly amortization on these units are very affordable, given the low interest rate and long payment terms. In some cases, the monthly payment could even be lower than what they would pay if they were renting", said Uy.
Currently, the Pag-IBIG Fund Branch here in Iloilo is offering 256 eligible acquired assets for sale located in Iloilo, Aklan, Capiz and Guimaras.
Interested buyers may call the Acquired Asset Section of Pag-IBIG Iloilo at 508-4530 or 338-8006 or visit the Branch at the 3rd Floor, Emmanuel Business Center, B.S. Aquino Avenue, Molo, Iloilo City.
