'Senator' Mel ready for showbiz
Carmelo "Mel" Carreon
Is he ready to be the next Pinoy Big Brother housemate? Or better yet, is Pinoy Big Brother ready for him?
Perennial election bet Carmelo "Mel" Carreon has added yet another laurel in his roster of candidacy, this time going even bigtime.
Feeling that his record-holding feat as the "always-defeated politician" is more than enough credential, Mel now gives television reality show Pinoy Big Brother a daring try as gateway to greater stardom.
In a letter to Pinoy Big Brother bigwigs, Mel, the councilor, mayor, congressman and senator that Iloilo never had (at least for now), appealed to be considered for the part.
With subject "Can a Humble Famous Ilonggo Politician Participate "Pinoy Big Brother" For Human Interest and Laughs," Mel justified his worth.
In his words, it is public knowledge that he was seen not only nationwide but worldwide "via satellite in the United States of America & Europe."
Mel, in fairness to his claim, has indeed been featured by giant television network ABS-CBN programs like Balitang K and Insider. Mel also said he has Filipino seamen as living witnesses to his worlwide exposure in a news telecast.
Unknown to many, Mel once tried his luck in the Guinness Book of World of Record as the most-defeated politician only to be defeated anew. Turned out the world has bigger losers, way bigger than what Mel is here.
"To prove my credibility and integrity furnishing you a political color (sic)propaganda picture as Iloilo City Mayorable Candidate last May 2001 Election," Mel further wrote of his "evidences" while offering yet another sample of "a color (sic) picture from head to foot."
Mel awaits "with keen interest" the reply of ABS-CBN. Meantime, should the network turn him down, for Mel it would seem to be another victory as well for after all, that brings him closer to his intent to be recognized by the Guinness Book of World Record as the biggest loser.
Mel furnished all local media outlets the copy of his Pinoy Big Brother application.
