DepEd launches online scholarship program for school principals in WV
The Department of Education (DepEd) launched Thursday a scholarship program for principals who are interested in pursuing further studies through the Internet.
Dubbed as DepEd Excel Scholarship, it offers a flexible learning course on instructional and curricular leadership and management using the web page platform known as Innotech Flexible Learning Management System (i-FLEX).
The DepEd has initially admitted 100 principals from elementary and high schools in Western Visayas that were endorsed by their respective divisions.
The grantees are required to be computer literate and have a valid e-mail address. Prior to admission, the scholar is required to attend a learner's orientation and must promise to attend the graduation upon completion of the course at the West Visayas State University (WVSU).
Violenda Gonzales, DepEd information officer, said the scholarship program is being implemented nationwide provided the applicant possess the qualifications set by the agency.
