2 Iloilo City schools get Brigada Eskwela citations
Two schools in Iloilo City got recognition from the Department of Education (DepEd) as among the Most Innovative 2007 Brigada Eskwela Implementers.
Nabitasan Elementary School in La Paz district topped in the elementary level while Jaro National High School ranked sixth in the secondary level.
Records from the DepEd showed that Nabitasan Elementary School ranked first with a rating of 94.10 percent. The Nabitasan Elementary School got a higher percentage in the areas of scope of repair & maintenance/work completed with 30.19 percent and 29.06 percent in volunteer services.
The Gov. E. Gaston Memorial Elementary School in Silay City, Negros Occidental ranked second with 92.94 percent and Kalibo II Elementary School placed third with 91.84 percent.
The basis for the selection of the awardees are the scope of repair and maintenance/work completed; donations/materials/resources generated; volunteer services, over-all impact of Brigada Eskwela in the physical improvement of the school and other factors.
The Jose B. Puey Sr. Elementary School in Sagay, Negros Occidental ranked fourth with 88.25 percent; Laua-an Elementary School in Antique with 85.67 percent and Don Albino & Doña Dolores Jison Elementary School with 81.83 percent.
In the secondary level, the Jaro National High School ranked six in the 2007 Most Innovative Brigada Eskwela. The La Castellana National High School ranked first with 93.73 percent.
Maayon National High School in Capiz ranked second with 92.69 percent. It was followed by Doña Monserrat Lopez Memorial High School in Silay with 88.79 percent; Sagay National High School is fourth with 85.93 percent and Capiz National High School with 84.33.
According to DepEd Regional Director Atty. Victoriano Tirol, the first, second and third placers in both elementary and secondary levels will be the Region 6's entries to the national level.
The big six winners together with special awardees for both elementary and secondary levels shall be recognized in a fitting program to be arranged later by the regional office, said Tirol.
