Bacolod's Masskara Festival opens
Bacolod City -- The 28th Masskara Festival opens with a simple rite at the Masskara Village to signal the start of the month-long celebration.
This year, major streets in the city will be activated to be the site of various celebrations and events in addition to the city plaza. 5th street to the whole stretch of Lacson Street will be transformed to be the venue of Electric Masskara where bands and street parties are set.
Meanwhile, Teleperformance is set to hold a public speaking workshop for the 10 lovely Masskara Queen candidates.
The objective of the 3-hour workshop is to get the candidates speak to audience with authority and confidence during the pageant night. Among the topics to be discussed on the workshop are: Tips on public speaking; how to overcome stage fright and the dos and don'ts when on stage.
It is our goal that these ladies will have an exemplary performance when it comes to their speech despite fears that hovers them while on stage and facing the multitude of crowd on the night of the event, said Arbolario.
Arbolario added that they hope that candidates will also be able to boost their self-esteem through this workshop.
"It is going to be, yet again, the biggest Masskara ever. This just gets bigger every year," festival director Eli F. Tajanlangit said. (CMO/PIA)
