Provincial gov't to buy 10 motorcycles for anti-highway robbery campaign
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) will soon have 10 new police motorcycles for its anti-highway robbery campaign.
This after the Iloilo Sanggunian Panlalawigan during its special session recently approved P1.6 million to purchase the police motorcycles upon the recommendation of Gov. Niel Tupas. The budget was part of the P24.7 million supplemental budget no. 4 approved by the SP.
IPPO office-in-charge S/Supt. Ricardo de la Paz said the police motorcycles would boost their anti-highway robbery campaign.
Recently, the IPPO was faced with several highway robbery cases victimizing lending collectors.
De la Paz said they have already discussed the matter with lending operators here and offered to provide escorts for their collectors.
The police official also urged community support in addressing the problem. (PNA)
