Florete gets KBP Lifetime Achievement Award
Media Magnate Dr. Rogelio M. Florete is conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP). Dr. Florete was given the distinction because of the phenomenal success of Bombo Radyo Philippines with 43 AM and FM Stations nationwide.
The President/CEO of Bombo Radyo Philippines was cited by KBP during the Golden Dove Awards held at the Oxford Hotel, Clark Field, Pampanga which coincided with the KBP's Annual Top Level Management Conference(TLMC), on Friday, November 16, 2007.
In receiving the award, Dr. Florete thanked his colleagues in the media for the KBP Lifetime Achievement Award which he accepted with all humility.
"Nothing is sweeter, no award is gratifying than accepting a Lifetime Achievement Award from your fellow brodkasters and leaders of the media industry in the Philippines," Dr. Florete said.
The KBP Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest award given by KBP to individuals that have contributed to the growth and vigor of the media industry. For the past 15 years, there were eleven individuals cited including Eugenio Lopez , Jr (ABS-CBN), Abelardo Yabut, Sr. (NBC), Henry Canoy (RMN), Fred Elizalde (MBC) and Menardo Jimenez (GMA), among the old hands in the industry.
Bombo Radyo Philippines, though, yet to establish an AM station in Metro Manila, has built a name and has carved its niche into the national consciousness with a strong recall by a vast audience and following in 26 key cities nationwide.
Under his watch, Bombo Radyo Philippines became the No.1 Radio Network in the Country. An exemplary success for a "promdi" (from the province) radio network that was born in Iloilo City.
Dr. Florete's hands-on management, passion for excellence and hardwork are the hallmarks behind of Bombo Radyo Philippines unique programing and on air execution that has made it a byword among radio listeners nationwide from Tuguegarao City in the top north to General Santos City in the bottom south.
