Bon Vivant Ross Gorriceta
Birthday Boy Ross Gorriceta
ONE of Iloilo's respected and most innovative businessmen and social figures, the bon vivant Ross Gorriceta of the famed Marina Restaurant in Diversion Road (with branches in cities like Cebu , Pasay, San Juan, Taguig and Makati numbering 12 all in all), celebrated his birthday and send off party recently with immediate family and close friends numbering to 30.
Ross and his better half Marina Luz will be visiting the US of A for 10 days dearies, to visit their daughter and relatives residing in both the East and West Coasts. The couple will travel in high style all the way, starting from their business class passage down to their luxurious hotel accommodations which is obviously very Ross Gorriceta, who is used to such splendor! They will be staying in such celebrated addresses like Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, The Waldorf- Astoria in New York City and Borgata in Atlantic City. Very chic indeed!
Ross and Marina Gorriceta
Ross and Marina had been with the food and hospitality industry for so many years now that they had effectively stamped the name Marina Restaurantas synonymous to fantastic seafood fare, fine entertainment, novel hospitality and best of all, personalized service by the couple themselves. But not everyone knows though, that before Marina Restaurant, the couples were silent operators of the Gorriceta Rice Mill in San Miguel, Iloilo since 1980, selling and trading rice which had provided them the steady income and additional capital for Marina's expansion over the years.
Ross and Marina Luz are blessed with four children who are flourishing in their own chosen careers with sons businessmen Ross Paul and Roland running their many Marina branches, daughters Marie Rousseanne, a registered nurse now residing in swanky New Port Beach in California and Rochelle also a registered nurse, married to businessman Joey Salvador and currently managing the popular Café Rue.
With his family
Ross has been busy lately managing his hottest project of the moment, the PANTALAN, a wharf like resto cum bar annexed to the main pavilion of Marina Restaurant thru its winding landscaped garden. The place is just right for light afternoon merienda and perfect for al fresco dining and gets together drinking under the evening skies with the stars are not only shining above but also shimmering at the wharf. I'm talking about the PANTALAN Girls dearie, another of Ross' avant-garde idea, which I need not say more but for you to find out.
Check it out and get star struck! Cheers!
