City's task forces get bigger budget allocation
The six task forces of the city government got 12 percent of the P3,334,992 budget for the non-office expenses in the fourth quarter of 2007. It has a budget of P276,940 before the end of the year. It is much bigger compared to the City Health Development program.
Of the six task forces, the Task Force Boltahe has the biggest fund with P91,520. The Task Force Asis comes second with P43,180; Task Force Sidewalk P40,640; Task Force Jaywalking P38,100; Task Force Anti-Littering P38,100 and Task Force Cooperative with P25,400.
Among the six task forces, the Task Force Boltahe is visible because of the city's campaign against the thieves of power and electrical lines. The members of the task force will assist in the filing of a complaint against those suspects who have illegal electrical connections from either the street light, plazas, day care centers and barangay halls.
In the same non-office expenses, an amount of P241,826 is allocated for the City Health Development program; P254 for the General Services (various offices) and P127, 000 for the city's beautification program. The Mobile Health Center Services has a budget of P140,226.
The other non-office budget is allocated to the Boarding House Commission with P25,000; Care for Mentally Ill persons P25,400; maintenance of public library P27,940; ICUPAO P45,720; Helping Hand Foundation P47,640 and Iloilo City Riverbanks / Waterways rehabilitation P15,240.
The city's sports development program has also a budget of P45,720; OSCA P30,360; Crisis Management Office P73,660 and computerization program P20,320.
