3 kiosk-owners rapped for power pilferage
Task Force Boltahe of the City Engineers Office (CEO) has already referred the case of the three kiosk owners at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand who were reportedly caught having illegal electrical connections before the City Legal Office (CLO).
Reports from the Task Force Boltahe identified the three as Manuel Rios, Mediatrix Robio and Lea Peras. The three were apprehended when the task force led by Engr. Salvador Pedregosa initiated operation last April 24, 2008. The three are among the renters in the area used to be managed by the city's Senior Citizens.
The operation was made after the task force received information on the illegal connections of the three in the city's electrical connections at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand. With the arrest, the task force seized electrical lines attached from their respective kioks to the electrical connections at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand.
The case of the three vendors was referred to the CLO for review. If evidence warrants, proper complaint for violation of anti-pilferage law will be slapped against the violators. Though, there are also cases wherein violators are only made to pay for the excess electrical consumption of the government facility where the illegal connections are attached.
As to date, no details is available at the CLO on the case of the three vendors.
