Defense chief visits 3ID headquarters
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Defense Secretary Gilbert F. Teodoro yesterday visited the Third Infantry Division (3ID) headquarters in Camp Peralta, Jamindan Capiz to talk to the troops and personnel to boost their morale.
Sec. Teodoro was welcomed by BGen. Nestor P. Ochoa, Commanding General of the 3ID upon his arrival at the Roxas City airport aboard the Philippine Air Force (PAF) plane.
Sec. Teodoro was met and interviewed by various media outfits in Roxas City upon his arrival. When asked about the political speculation that he will run as senator in the next elections, the Secretary gave no definite answer. He said that he is presently focusing on his job performance.
On queries regarding the kidnapping of journalist Ces Drilon and others, Sec. Teodoro answered that "the PNP is the lead agency who handles the case, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is support agency only."
It was also learned that aside from finding out the troops' situation in the field, he also disseminated policies and guidelines on national defense and security, as well as address critical concerns.
