ANS avails last projects under Sedip
Antique National School is lucky to be the last recipient of the foreign-funded Secondary Education Development and Improvement Project (Sedip) in the province of Antique.
As such, the school will avail of the following projects: three units of single story four-classroom building, single-story multi-function hall and a single-detached restroom.
Said projects has a total amount of P11.95 million. Part of the funds will come from the congressional development fund (CDF) of Antique Rep. Exequiel Javier amounting to P2.5 million while the local government unit has a counterpart fund of P480,000. Sedip for its part allocated P8.9 million for the project.
Javier said the building of facilities for educational development is one of the priority projects of his administration.
According to the Department of Education website the Sedip is a 6.8 billion worth package of assistance which will benefit high school students in 26 low-income provinces within seven years.
The program involves the construction of new school buildings; improvement of school facilities; provision of textbooks, manuals and instructional aids; and extensive in service training programs for teachers and school administrations. The program started in the year 2000.
Mr. Rodolfo Caberoy, Principal of ANS, expressed gratefulness that his school became a beneficiary of the Sedip project.
He said the projects would be of great help to the more than 5,000 students of the school.
