CFO to visit Capiz July 4-7
ROXAS CITY -- The Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) will conduct its annual Community Education Program (CEP) dubbed "Handa ka na bang mag-abroad? Ano ang mga dapat alamin?" from July 4 to 7 in the province.
"The CEP seeks to raise public awareness on various issues concerning migration, intermarriages and existing government policies and programs directed against illegal recruitment, documentation fraud, and human trafficking, among others," said a CFO press release of the upcoming activity.
CFO officers together with representatives of other government agencies will conduct activities such as school symposia on migration, pulong-pulong/dialogues with NGOs, religious leaders/ members, local government units, community leaders, press briefings and radio interviews.
Other areas in the region scheduled for the CEP are Victorias and Bacolod cities in Negros Occidental.
"Approximately 2,000 attendees are expected to take part in this leg of the CEP activities," the release added.
CFO is a government agency established in 1980 through the enactment of Batas Pambansa 79 to promote and uphold the interests and well-being of Filipinos Overseas.
It envisions a community of Filipinos overseas widely recognized as a competitive world-class community with productive roles in the countries where they live and with strong political, economic, and cultural ties with the Philippines. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
