District hospital opens in Escalante City
BACOLOD CITY -- The 96 million Don Vicente Gustilo District Hospital in Escalante City, Negros Occidental was opened, recently, after all equipment and services were transferred from the old hospital building.
Constructed starting 2004 during the time of the late Gov. Joseph Marañon and then Vice Gov. Isidro Zayco, the hospital headed by Dr. Josephus Jubal.
Don Vicente Gustilo District Hospital is one of the ten government hospitals under the provincial government.
Escalante City Mayor Melecio Yap Jr. lead city officials, doctors,nurses, and other staff witnessed the inauguration and opening of the hospital, built using the P50 million from the province, P30 million from the city, P 6 million from the Department of Health and P10 million from the congressional fund.
Neg. Occ. Gov. Isidro Zayco asked the nurses and staff to give the best service to the people, not only to those in the first district, but also to those in its neighboring towns.
Dr. Josephus Jubal, hospital head, requested the governor for additional facilities and personnel for the proper sanitation of the hospital. (PIA/cad)
