Negrense grad tops agriculturist exam
BACOLOD CITY -- Clark Noquera Melendres, of Brgy. Ayungon, Valladolid, Negros Occidental, landed second in the licensure examination for agriculturists held recently.
Melendres is a graduate of the Negros State College of Agriculture (NSCA) in Kabankalan City.
His score was 85.33 percent following closely the topnotcher from the University of the Philippines at Los Baños, scoring 85.67.
Dr. Freddie Maningo, NSCA president, said the college faculty, students, personnel and the community are happy and proud over Melendres' performance, adding that the feat follows the Best in Governance in the Public Sector Award presented by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to NSCA during the recent regional competition spearheaded by the Regional Development Council.
Melendres completed his elementary education in Brgy. Ayungon in Valladolid and high school at Ramon Torres National High School in Brgy.Sagasa, Bago City
He is the fourth of the seven children of Casiano and Elma Melendres.
He is presently on training under PhilRice at Midsayap in Cotabato. (PIA/cad)
