10 recipients get wheelchairs from Rotary Club of Metro Roxas-Central
ROXAS CITY – Ten disabled persons acquired wheelchairs from Rotary Club of Metro Roxas-Central on Tuesday at MVW Restaurant here.
Atty. Margarita "Ging" Oquendo, past president of the club, said that the organization also gave 84 prosthesis (artificial legs) to differently-abled persons.
Rotary Club of Metro Roxas-Central adapted two barangays such as Culajao, Roxas City and Hipoña, Pontevedra which were recipients of 40 chairs and 9 filing cabinets each.
The two barangays are also recipient of TV, karaoke, DVD, tables for pupils, water dispenser, water jag and encyclopedia for children.
Dir. Dolly Alayon-Buday, director for public affairs, said that this coming December, the organization will likewise give another 100 wheelchairs to the differently-abled persons. She said that the wheelchair is worth P12,000 each.
The press conference was attended by Rotarian Medy Arengga, Pres. Concepcion Noche, M.D., Dir. Michelle "Micay" Beluso, Sec. Daisylynn "Daisy" Yap, and President-Elect Roselyn Alovera.
