Capiz dads mourn village chief's death
ROXAS CITY – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan during its regular session yesterday passed a resolution extending profound sympathy to the bereaved family and constituents of Brgy. Captain Alfredo Bajada Mendez of Sto. Angel, Dumalag, Capiz.
The resolution was authored by Board Member Baden Cantiller and co-authored by Board member Clemente Castro-Firmalino, Jr.
Mendez died at around 3 p.m. on August 22 for lingering illness: metastatic bone cancer and prostate cancer.
"Whereas, Hon. Alfredo Bajada Mendez, whose sincere dedication to his constituents on his first term as Punong Barangay has shown selfless public service, was equally commendable head of a family, whom he left truly in distraught and deserted by his demise," the resolution said.
The resolution also stated that "whereas, in humblest and heartfelt way, sentiments of bereavement in the passing away of an honorable gentleman is shared among his colleagues --- by his fellow Punong Barangays in the entire Province of Capiz and by members of his Sanggunian, who greatly appreciate his invaluable significant part in bringing the government nearer to its people.
It was learned that Mendez is father-in-law of Board Member Gilbert Ardivilla.
