CAPELCO lowers systems loss in 2007
ROXAS CITY – A total of 14,383 units of residential and commercial kilowatt meters have been strategically clustered by the Capiz Electric Cooperative (CAPELCO) in 2007 as part of its efforts to reduce systems loss.
The accomplishment was included in the cooperative's technical accomplishments last year that is included in CAPELCO General Manager Engr. Edgar Diaz's report during the recently coducted 33rdAnnual General Membership Assembly (AGMA).
"The technical people are focused on its annual plan of bringing down the coop's systems loss to a single digit," Diaz said in the AGMA's souvenir program. The CAPELCO's comparative technical data showed that the systems loss was registered at 13.91 percent for 2007 vis-à-vis 14 percent in 2006.
The systems loss reduction was also attributed to the cooperative's campaign against electric pilferers through info-text promo which resulted in the apprehension of 191 power bandits.
The report noted the more than 1,260 kilometers of cleared power lines aside from the 779 rotten poles replacement as among other factors that helped lower the systems loss. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
