Firmalino sets Panitan Liga special election on Oct. 10
ROXAS CITY – Liga ng mga Barangay (LnB) Capiz chapter President Clemente Castro Firmalino has scheduled the special election of Liga ng mga Barangay in Panitan on October 10 this year.
This developed after the provincial liga approved a resolution recently scheduling the said date for special election. However, it is up to the liga in Panitan to whether to follow the said schedule as they have a full authority to set the date for the conduct of their election.
LnB national has already given a go signal for the holding of the special election in Panitan town yet for some reason no election has been held.
To recall, the National Liga through a resolution passed by its board had authorized the LnB of Panitan to hold a special election.
LnB Panitan does not have officers until now after it failed to conduct election last year for lack of quorum.
The absence of officers deprived barangays officials in said town to have a representative in the Sanggunian Bayan.
Glenn Guzman of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) will administer the said special election.
