'Wanders' taking Manila theater-goers into a magical journey
A magical two-hour theater production, "Wanders", is the subject of animated talk among those who watched it in Metro Manila since its debut last July at the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) Grand Theater at Ninoy Aquino Avenue in Parañaque City.
Staged every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. until December only, Wanders is a creation of PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Efraim C. Genuino, whose travels inspired him to develop a theatrical production that is not only world class, but would also serve as a venue to launch the finest Filipino talents on the global stage.
Conceptualized and produced by "Filipinos with a vision", as Genuino calls them, Wanders combines the elements of theater, musical and circus, through the efforts of the production team behind "Miss Saigon" in Manila led by producer Chito Cabalu, musical score by a live band under director Egay Gonzales, costumes by Eric Pineda and other top local couturiers, and a cast composed of multi-awarded Filipino artists, acrobats from China, and jazz and ballet dancers from Russia.
PAGCOR renovated its 1,200-seater Grand Theater to accommodate the show's technical requirements like the hydraulic lifts and the latest in stage lighting technology, among others.
Wanders represents PAGCOR's venture into family-oriented, wholesome entertainment that makes it ideal for fund raisers in schools and communities. It also has special showings for the benefit of orphans as part of the corporate social responsibility program of the government-run gaming firm.
Tickets are sold at P1,200, P2,000 and P5,000. For inquiries, contact the Bacolod PAGCOR office at tel. no. 434-8901 to 10. Capitol News
