Villar, Tamano to grace Mambusao fiesta
ROXAS CITY – Senate President Manuel Villar and lawyer Adel Tamano will be the guest speakers of Mambusao Fiesta 2009 slated on November 20-25.
Mambusao Mayor Jose "Joe" Alba told The News Today (TNT) that Villar and Tamano will speak separately for the Mambusaonons as part of the week-long fiesta celebration.
He said that Villar will be the guest speaker on November 23 Professional Night while Tamano will also be the coronation speaker of the Search for Miss Inilusan 2009.
It was learned that Tamano, who is the spokesperson of the genuine opposition, is the daughter-in-law of Retired Justice Santiago Kapunan, who is also a native of Mambusao, Capiz.
It was also learned that Tamano will arrive here via Philippine Airlines on November 22 where he will be having breakfast at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Potenciano Kapunan in Brgy. Tiza here
Alba vehemently denied any political indication regarding Senator Villar's visit during the fiesta.
"I was not the one who decided the invitation of Villar but there is the fiesta committee who determined who will be the guest speakers of the annual fiesta," Alba clarified.
The annual municipal fiesta is in honor of St. Catherine, the town patroness. It will also be the celebration of Inilusan Festival, a cultural and fiesta celebration celebrated from November 20 to 25 every year.
Schedule of activities are as follows: November 19- Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Night; November 20- Farmer Night and Opening of Exhibit, PTCA night, and mass wedding of 78 couples; November 24- Cultural Parade, Fireworks; and November 25- Fiesta Proper, the mass will be officiated by Archbishop Onesimo Gordoncillo.
