DAR signs MOA with DPWH, NIA for project implementation
Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently reported that it signed an agreement with partner agencies to further boost the implementation of the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project Phase III (ARISP III), a foreign assisted project, in the country.
The memorandum of agreement (MOA) was signed by Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman and Public Works Senior Undersecretary Manuel Bonoan and NIA Administrator Carlos Salazar last December 18, 2008 in Quezon City.
The MOA, among other things, aims to concretize DAR's partnerships with the said agencies in the implementation of the project.
DAR is tasked to lead the implementation of ARISP III in cooperation with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Local Government Units and other partner institutions.
The project covers various sub-components that include irrigation development, post-harvest facilities, farm to market road and bridges development and potable water supply development.
It also covers institutional development for irrigator's association primary cooperative, water users' association, local government units, and support to project implementation, coordination and monitoring. (PIA)
