New Year's Wish
Goodbye year of recession, year of calamities and year of more poverty! Welcome to another year of uncertainties. Indeed, year 2008 brought us a lot of bad luck. Recession hit people around the globe and to top of it all a lot of people lost their jobs. Americans are hopeful that they can face this crisis much better with their new president. Other nations are busy sketching plans to battle this huge financial problem. While Filipinos are busy facing their politicians' whims! It's really ironic, we as a third world country should be more worried, instead our political masters -- servants as what they preferred to be called -- are busy pushing for charter change, reproductive bill and declaring candidacies for the next national elections.
I maybe not very religious but I agree with the church. Politicians should face first what is really the Big problem. Hunger, poverty, unemployment and most of all corruption have been the problem for ages in our country may it be a year of recession or not. Politicians are not so keen dealing with it they are more obsessed with power and how to stay in their thrones.
I wish that this year 2009 our public servants would know their real responsibilities. I wish that they will put aside their political interests and be real public servants! We had a lot for year 2008, prices of rice shoot up, basic commodities became more expensive, the unpredictable prices of oil and huge destruction brought by natural or man-made calamities. It's too much to handle for a year, good thing Filipinos are still optimistic and a lot are passive to throw out their selfish leaders.
I wish no more controversies will emerge so the Senate and Lower House will not waste much time solving mysteries! I wish people should stop relying too much in the government for it only brings them frustration. I wish our population be controlled or else another million children will starve. I wish politicians fulfill their promises last election before they declare another candidacy for the year 2010 elections.
Lastly, I wish that the government shouldn't eat out our remaining hope for year 2009! We are hoping for a peaceful, less chaotic and less starving country!
Happy New year to one and all!
