Capiz gives 900 packs of relief goods to flood-hit areas
ROXAS CITY – About 900 packs of relief goods were distributed by the provincial government of Capiz to families in various flashflood-hit barangays of Sigma and Pan-ay towns.
"The packs are composed of rice, packs of noodles and sardines," said Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Violeta Silva.
The province's relief assistance was augmented by REACT Halaran, a socio-civic organization.
Heavy equipments were also extended by the province in the rehabilitation efforts of three barangays in the municipality of Cuartero which were affected by landslides. These barangays are Nagba, San Antonio and Mainit.
The flashflood and landslide occurrences early this year were brought about by days of continuous rains experienced provincewide at the onset of 2009. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
