MOA strengthens advocacy on honesty, punctuality
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was recently signed between educators from the government and the private sectors on moves to counter the stigma of "Filipino Time" and of graft and corruption in the upper echelons of government.
The Malacañang press report disclosed that the undertaking is dubbed Project: W.A.T.C.H. (We Advocate Time Consciousness and Honesty). The project consists of a series of seminars and orientations for the young to complement existing school curricula.
According to Presidential Assistant on Education Mona Valisno, the signatories of the MOA include Education Secretary Jesli Lapuz, JCI Senate national president Carlos Go, Commission on Higher Education chair Manuel Angeles, Technical Education and Skills Development Administration (TESDA) chair Augusto Syjuco and Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities president Gonzalo Duque.
Valisno said that copies of the MoA have already been sent to government bureaus and offices, universities and colleges "for them to inculcate with more focus…the advocacy for national consciousness on honesty and punctuality."
The project will be undertaken with the JCI (Philippine Jaycees, Inc.) -Senate network and institutional partners nationwide, the Malacanang press report disclosed. (PIA6/T.Villavert)
