BACOLOD CITY – Town and city mayors who are affiliated with the United Negros Alliance (UNA) will go to Macau, China on March 5-6, 2009 to flex muscles in preparation for the 2010 polls.
Manapla Mayor Manolet Escalante, President of the Association of Chief Executives in Negros Occidental, said they will discuss about the political plans of the party.
Their travel expense will be shouldered by the party.
He said, they will hold their party discussions there to avoid distractions.
The group may come up with their local candidates.
Gov. Isidro Zayco will not join them in the trip considering that it's his birthday and he has a lot of concerns here.
"They told me to come with them to wind up. However, because it's my birthday, I told them that I cannot join them," he said.
As to his political plans in 2010, he still considers to run for Mayor in Kabankalan.
There are talks that he will run for Governor. But he said, 2010 is still far. There are many things to happen between now and 2010, Gov. Zayco said.
