DOE donates calibrating bucket for Bacolod City
BACOLOD CITY – The Sangguniang Panglungsod of Bacolod City is scheduled to ratify today the Deed of Donation between the Department of Energy, represented by Director Antonio E. Labios, and the City of Bacolod, represented by Mayor Evelio Leonardia, with regard to the donation of one (1) unit 10-liter calibrating bucket.
The donation was in response to a resolution passed by Sangguniang Panglungsod Member Jocelle Batapa-Sigue last year requesting the Department of Energy for inspection and calibration of machines used by various gasoline stations to determine its accuracy.
Councilor Batapa-Sigue said that in response to her resolution, Director Labios sent his team to the City of Bacolod to inspect the actual pump calibration of different gasoline stations. Since there is a need for inspection and constant monitoring, Director Labios had responded by way of donating said unit of calibration bucket.
Under the Deed of Donation, the City of Bacolod is mandated to use the calibrating bucket for the conduct of calibration whenever there is a complaint of underdelivery or overdelivery of dispensing pumps.
Labios also reiterated that the City of Bacolod shall maintain at all times the good condition of the said calibrating bucket and shall be responsible for re-calibration of the same at the Industrial Technology Development Institute-National Metrology Laboratory of the Department of Science and Technology after 12 months of its validity. The signing of the Deed of Donation was witnessed by Saul Gonzales Chief of DOE Visayas Field Office based in Cebu City.
