Australian envoy to donate computers
Australian Ambassador to the Philippines His Excellency Rod Smith will be here Thursday to donate 10 brand new computers to the Jaro National High School. The donation is part of the Australian government’s commitment in helping the city when Typhoon Frank hit the city.
Mayor Jerry Treñas said the ambassador will represent the AusAid in the turn-over ceremony at the Jaro National High School. The donations will be received by Jaro National High School principal Jesusita Agudo.
The ceremony will also be attended by the chief executive and other faculties of the school.
The Jaro National High School is only one of the schools here badly affected by flood caused by Typhoon Frank. The school suffered damages on the equipment and learning tools.
The AusAid is only one of the foreign organizations which made efforts in helping the city coping up with the damages it incurred when hit by the typhoon. The Australian government is also expected to donate books to the schools though no final confirmation has been made.
Different groups heeded to the call of the chief executive by providing donations to the different schools here.
