Salary hike for Capitol employees
Employees of the Provincial Government will have an increase in their salaries starting July this year.
The increase will be somewhere within 20-25% of their present pay, Provincial Administrator Manuel Mejorada said yesterday.
The increase in the employees’ pay will be effective July 1, Mejorada added, with department heads receiving the highest increase.
The funds to be used to pay the increase in the salaries of the employees will be sourced from the Capitol’s savings in 2008, the Administrator said.
According to a document signed by Provincial Accountant Lyd Tupas and furnished by Mejorada, the Capitol was able to save P220,383,975.05 last year.
The increase, Mejorada stressed, is already certain because it is mandated by the Salary Standardization Law.
However, only employees occupying plantilla positions can benefit from the increase.
Job hires and contractual personnel will not have any increase in their pay, Mejorada said.
