BIR Bacolod to implement 'Oplan Kandado'
BACOLOD CITY -- Revenue District Officer Lilivic Minguez-Gatdula of BIR-RDO 77 announced yesterday that her office will strictly implement next week the surveillance of all establishments in the City of Bacolod who failed to issue Value Added Tax (VAT) Invoices/Receipts and also failed to file their respective VAT returns.
This announcement was made by Gatdula in the wake of the deadline set by the BIR for the filing of the Annual Income Tax Returns yesterday April 15.
She confirmed that their main office is now implementing all over the country the so called "Oplan Kandado" or the mandated closure of all establishments who did not meet the requirements set by their Commissioner.
Gatdula identified four grounds for the temporary suspension/closure of businesses all over the country and part of this, aside from failure to issue VAT invoices and VAT returns, is the failure of such establishment to register their business and committed an understatement of taxable sales by 30% or more.
She also stressed that those who want to put up a business in Bacolod must first register at the BIR or else they will be closed ten days prior to its operation.
Gatdula, however, said that establishments complying with therequirements have nothing to worry because the penalty will only apply to the erring businesses defying their orders.
She also advised business owners to look first for the mission order if somebody conducts inspection in their area to ensure that they are part of the surveillance team.
