PANAAD ’09 Update: TLDC-EEDD to hold market clinic cum product dev’t
BACOLOD CITY -- The Technology and Livelihood Development Center (TLDC) under the Economic Enterprise Development Department (EEDD) in collaboration with the Provincial Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Council (PMSMEDC) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Negros Occidental will hold a two-day ‘Market Clinic Cum Product Development’ on April 21 and 22, 2009 at the Media Center of the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City.
Invited speakers include Nora Lao, a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Export who will tackle the topic on “The Pains and Gains of Export Business”; Bernie Montelibano and Jet Castañeda from the Bureau of Domestic Trade of the Deparment of Trade and Industry who will give a talk on “Product - Market Matching” and a merchandiser from Manila for the Merchandiser’s Hour.
The goals of the activity is to increase awareness on the updated market situation and market preference in gifts and housewares, identify areas for improvement among the different One-Town, One-Product (OTOP) products from the municipalities and cities; learn from experts about various strategies to penetrate new markets and sustain existing ones; and to facilitate market linkages among exporters and producers.
Expected outcomes of the activity include taking into account merchandiser’s suggestion on enhancing product quality, development of product storyline, raw material combination and competitive product costing; awareness among participants on the requirements of entrepreneurship and the emulation of the qualities of a successful entrepreneur; and establishment of market linkages among producers and buyers.
