Capiz targets 135 brgys for AHMP
ROXAS CITY – The province has identified at least 135 nutrition – depressed barangays for the Accelerated Hunger Mitigation Program (AHMP) implementation to improve the quality of life and nutritional well-being of its residents.
The statistics, based on Operation Timbang result, was presented by Capiz Nutrition Action Officer Salim Biclar during the Provincial Nutrition Council (PNC) he Meeting last April 21.
“It includes five barangays of Roxas City and all of the 16 towns had their respective barangays targeted for the AHMP,” she said. The figure also conforms with the National Nutrition Council (NNC) data.
“I encouraged the various government agencies and non-government as well as socio-civic organizations to redirect your anti-hunger programs to these targeted barangays,” she stressed.
The PNC meeting highlighted on the various AHMP – geared accomplishments of the various national government agencies, departments of the provincial government and NGO sector.
The 2008 AHMP accomplishment was also presented before PNC members during the meeting. (PIA/A.Lumaque)
