Capiz now has 3 congressmen
DAO, Capiz – It’s a dream come true for Cesar A. Cobrador, a native of this town, to become a member of the House of Representatives being a nominee of the AGAP partylist which is one of the partylist groups the Supreme Court (SC) ordered included.
Cobrador, a second nominee of AGAP Partylist, was welcomed by fellow Daonhons in Roxas City airport last Friday as they honored him for being now a congressman.
Cobrador came from a typical rags to riches story. He had been carabao watcher, rice harvester, cargador, janitor and security guard. He finished his college degree while working.
In the remaining months before the next election, Cobrador said he will propose to give higher salaries and wages to all security guards, other laborers and for the welfare of farmers nationwide.
“I became more humble than before since I know that my position was pawned to me by God and the people who voted AGAP Partlylist,” he told The News Today (TNT).
He also thanked the people of Western Visayas as well as from Luzon and Mindanao who voted for AGAP Partylist. The said partylist is being represented by Cong. Nicanor Briones.
But according to him, despite his present position he will still serve his kasimanwas in this town.
Earlier, Cobrador declared his intension to run for mayor in this town as he vowed to break the dynasty of Escutin family who dominated Dao for 40 years one after the other.
Partylist Rep. Cobrador is the third congressman from the province of Capiz, the other two representatives are: 1st District Cong. Antonio del Rosario and 2nd District Cong. Fredenil Castro.
