Thousands benefit from 'civac' in Dumarao
DUMARAO, Capiz – Some 2,000 indigents coming from the different barangays of this town availed of free medical/dental and medicines as well as supplemental feeding under the administration of Mayor Leslie Warren “Beboy” Benjamin last week here.
Benjamin told The News Today (TNT) that the first batch of the civac was on April 18 which was conducted in Barangay Gibato as the venue for the 11 upland barangays and April 23 at the town civic center for 22 lowland barangays.
According to him, services rendered during the civac were: medical and dental, circumcision, massage and hair cutting. Other services are blood pressure check-up and blood sugar testing for diabetes patients and senior citizens.
Benjamin said this activity is conducted by his administration every year.
Benjamin also said that the civac was in cooperation with Mrs. Jane Castro and Mr. Jocjoc Bolante and 3ID Philippine Army (PA) based in Jamindan who were present during the activities.
The said civac was also attended by Vice Mayor Quiruben Pamplona, members of the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) and other provincial officials.
He added the town also hosted a summer youth camp participated by parishes and seminarians in the province from April 16 - 19 this year.
