Acebuche assumes as BCPO-TMU head
BACOLOD CITY -- Effective Wednesday Police Station 1 Commander Senior Insp. Luisito Acebuche has been appointed head of the Bacolod Traffic Management Unit, replacing Senior Insp. Levy Pangue.
Acebuche said he will hold office at the TMU in the morning and at police precinct 1 in the evening.
One of his mission is to minimize the swelling traffic in the streets of Lacson, Burgos, Libertad and Araneta and at the Bacolod downtown area and around the public plaza.
“I will also negotiate with the business establishments especially along Lacson Street to prevent double parking in the said area,” he added.
Acebuche said he will ask the full support and cooperation of the transport sector as he will introduce some changes in the implementation of some traffic rules in accordance with the city’s ordinances and laws.
He believes his expertise from the Traffic Bureau of the Western Police District in Quezon City for five years prior to his assignment in the province would be a great help to the city.
Meanwhile, Pangue who filed his leave of absence starting yesterday said he was not surprised of Acebuche’s assignment to TMU.
The former traffic czar said he is very hopeful that Acebuche will continue the programs he had started for the betterment of the traffic situation in Bacolod.
Councilor Al Victor Espino, Sangguniang Panglungsod chairman on Police and Security, expressed his full support to Acebuche.
