Ultimatum out for neutralization of 'bukas kotse' gang
BACOLOD CITY -- At a command conference held at Police Station 1 Wednesday, Acting Bacolod City Police Director Supt. Leo Irwin Agpangan has given one-week ultimatum to the BCPO-Intelligence Branch (IB) to neutralize gangs involved in “bukas kotse” and “salisi” operating in the city.
Agpangan ordered Intelligence Branch head Chief Insp. Leonardo Angcon to neutralize and file charges against criminal elements in the city.
“Show me your worth before the week ends,” Agpangan stressed to IB operatives.
Agpangan said he wanted results before May 13 or else he will be forced to relieve all of them.
Police records revealed that some of the criminal groups operating in Bacolod are from Sitio Magsungay in Bacolod, the cities of Silay and Bago, and from Valladolid town.
“These groups have better intelligence networks and know that the Bacolod police has minimal resources,” he added.
Angcon on the other hand said he and his men consider Agpangan’s one-week ultimatum as a challenge.
“I already requested a list of released detainees involved in “bukas kotse” and “salisi” activities, from the Bacolod Bureau of Jail Management and Penology to aid them in their investigation,” he added.
He also told all investigators in every police station not to release the stolen items to their owners if they refuse to file charges against the arrested suspects.
Angcon noted that some victims simply ignore the filing of charges against suspects once they recovered their stolen items.
