196 finish BBBFI Computer Literacy Training
BACOLOD CITY -- Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, president of Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation, led the officers of the foundation together with representatives from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in recognizing the successful trainees in a simple graduation ceremony held at the Victorias Elementary School covered court last May 26.
A total of 196 adults, youths and children from the cities of Silay and Victorias have completed their Computer Literacy Training of the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation under its Cyber Library Program.
Of the 196 graduates, 75 are scholars of the Cyber Library three-month basic computer training program, 66 are adults and children from Victorias and another batch of 55 from Silay have finished the two-weeks seminar-workshop on basic computer skills.
Recently, Albee Benitez turned-over to PSSupt. Manuel Felix of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Command a computer set with printer, digicam and fax facility.
In simple rites at Camp Alfredo Montelibano in the presence of NOPPO personnel, Benitez emphasized the importance of peace and order in the province in relation to the influx of investors and businessmen in Negros Occidental.
NOPPO spokesperson Police Chief Inspector Rico Santotome Jr said that policemen must be technologically capable in order to address the pressing problems being encountered by the Philippine National Police in the daily performance of their respective duties.
