Victorias residents avail free medicines, consultations
BACOLOD CITY — A total of 1,931 residents from the 26 barangays of Victorias City, Negros Occidental were beneficiaries of the “Handog Sa Pagpalangga sa mga Ilonggo” Medical Mission held last July 18, 2009.
The free medical and dental service is a project of the Leisure and Resorts World Corporation. It is a holding company of AB Leisure Exponent, Inc. or popularly known as the Bingo Bonanza Corporation, which pioneered the gaming industry in the Philippines, spanning a track record of ten years.
Posting a continuing profitability in recent years, it has primed its operational improvements and marketing efforts and anchored its sustainable growth to a corporate social responsibility thrust of annually conducting social development and community outreach projects in various parts of the country.
This year, Alfredo “Albee” Benitez, president of the Leisure and Resorts World Corporation chose Negros Occidental as the beneficiary area, specifically the city of Victorias, and has significantly timed the activity on July 18, the birthday of Mayor Severo Palanca, brother of former Mayor Remedios Palanca Bantug, maternal Grandmother of Albee Benitez.
The said medical mission is also in cooperation with the Victorias City government, together with the support of the Betty Bantug Benitez Foundation and the Ika-ayong Lawas Foundation.
Also providing assistance services were the Negros Occidental Provincial Government, the Victorias City Health Office and the Association of Barangay Councils of Victorias.
