One rainy morning, Smart Telecommunications and iServe conducted a bloodletting activity at SM City Iloilo. It was their second leg after the first one held in Bacolod City.
Being a part of I-serve, Pink Pepper was there, of course. We recorded 69 successful donors out of the 120 that was screened. You see, before donating blood, you had to be screened. So, if you’re underage, underweight, has a flu or came from a recent travel, like the cases we encountered that day, you can’t donate blood.
Jozyril Jalique, one of the donors, told Pink Pepper that he felt great for donating blood. He said that he prepared himself by drinking plenty of fluids, eating a good meal and having a good sleep the night before.
Gift of life from a member of the Army.
Pink Pepper donated blood, too. After all, it’s a gift of life that a healthy individual gives to others. You too, can donate blood and can do so every 56 days.
The donors came from fraternities and sororities of Central Philippine University (CPU), from Gawad Kalinga (GK) Sooc Mandurriao, John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University, University of the Philippines and University of San Agustin and Smart employees.
More bloodletting activities will be held by Smart in Dumaguete, Cebu, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Pangasinan and Manila.
Smart regularly conducts blood donation activities to support the efforts of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) to ensure an adequate supply of blood in the country.
This bloodletting activity was made possible in partnership with PNRC and SM City Iloilo.
