Antiquiera: Text messages on Gonzalez’s ‘hospitalization’ unchristian
City Councilor Eldrid Antiquiera described the rumors on the alleged hospitalization of Presidential Legal Counsel Raul Gonzalez Sr. as “unchristian.” The text messages on Gonzalez’s alleged hospitalization circulated over the weekend.
Allegedly Gonzalez was brought in one of the city’s private hospitals after he felt ill after arriving at the Iloilo airport. He was allegedly brought to the Intensive Care Unit of the unnamed hospital.
The rumor was dispelled after Gonzalez himself appeared in his weekly cable television shows and block time radio programs Sunday.
Antiquiera, a protégée of Gonzalez, said it is totally unchristian for the latter’s detractors to claim the former justice secretary was in bad condition. His detractors are making fun of a person’s health status. He did not mention any person who could have done the “text brigade.”
Gonzalez had a successful kidney transplant years ago. He returned to work after the operation. Though, there were negative reports on his medical conditions after the operation and yet he is still alive busy attending his and his son Raul Jr’s political career. He even fights back and laughs off his detractors.
Antiquiera won as city councilor after he joined the Gonzalez wing. He ran several times in previous elections but lost. Not until, he was included and endorsed by Gonzalez.
The councilor said he was with Gonzalez at the time when the text messages circulated. It is unfortunate that his (Gonzalez) detractors made fun of him. “The information is a by-product of persons who have nothing to do in their lives,” he said.
