DSB hosts tourism seminar
The Association of the Negros Occidental Tourism Officers held a Tourism Awareness Seminar recently in the municipality of Don Salvador Benedicto as part of its community development program.
The group, composed of around 60 tourism officers and staff, was welcomed by Mayor Lawrence Marxlene de la Cruz with Vice Mayor Cynthia de la Cruz and SB member Nehemiah Joe de la Cruz. The inspirational speaker during the program was Board member Nehemias de la Cruz of the 1st district.
The topics tackled during the seminar participated in by students and selected residents were Community Based Tourism for DSB by Ver Pacete, ATONO president and Silay City tourism officer and Basic Tourism and Updated by Jennylind Cordero, province tourism officer.
Pacete announced that DSB has now made its mark in the tourism map as the summer capital of Negros Occidental. This time, he also urged the residents to help promote the town as the honeymoon capital of the province as well because of its cool and invigorating climate the whole year round.
SB member de la Cruz said that many people show interest to reside in DSB because of its climate, concrete highways and sceneries. (Eddie Yap)
