Capitol review up on Igbaras Market Code, Dumangas Fishery Code
Members of the 9th Iloilo Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) in a review will evaluate and study the newly-passed Market Code of Igbaras, Iloilo.
Subject of Municipal Ordinance No. 2009-04, regulations are now in place in this Southern Iloilo town with regards to market operations and activities.
Among the basic provisions are strict adherence to permits and stall fees on vendors alongside clean-up and maintenance of the public market premises.
Meantime, corresponding legislative review and validation concluded on the Fishery Code of Dumangas, Iloilo.
Subject of Committee Report No. 2009-005, Committee on Aquatic Resources chair First District Board Member Mac Napulan recommended for the approval.
Legal and valid, Napulan ruled on the amendments pushed on Dumangas Municipal Ordinance No. 2009-05 entitled “An Ordinance regulating fishing and/or fisheries in the municipality.”
The amendments called for the increase of fine as imposed on violators.
“After appropriate review of the Provincial Legal Office, the Committee finds that the above Ordinance increases the administrative fine for violators of the Fishery Ordinance. And the amount of fine imposed is within the power of the municipality pursuant to Section 447 par (l) ) (iii) of Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991,” excerpts of the Committee report went.
