New call center to operate in Iloilo City
City Mayor Jerry Treñas said a new call center which could employ 2,000 employees is considering doing business in Iloilo City. It can accommodate 800 seats.
Treñas said he is very happy with the entry of another call center in the city. He did not however identify the call center. Treñas will make the final announcements as soon as everything is finalized.
Treñas, who just arrived from Yokohama, Japan, said the operation of the new call center is a substantial relief in employment.
The new call center will add up to the number of call centers operating here. Iloilo City has already made a niche in the Business Processing Outsourcing (BPO) industry.
The city becomes an ideal place for BPO outside Manila and Cebu. In the recent, Iloilo-Guimaras business forum held in Manila, the call center business was highlighted.
The city is an ideal site for the BPO considering its quality of graduates and availability of facility for call center business. It meet the requirements set by those involved in the BPO.
