Noynoy, Mar visit in Western Visayas reset Oct. 8-10
ROXAS CITY – The visit of Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Sen. Mar Roxas in Western Visayas was reset to October 8-10 instead of the first week of this month due to the devastation caused by typhoon Ondoy in Manila and most parts of Luzon.
Capiz Board Member Alfonso “Bo” Bediones told The News Today (TNT) that Aquino and Roxas moved their schedule because they are busy with the relief operations in Manila.
Noynoy and Mar, who earlier declared their intention to run for president and vice president, respectively, in next year’s election will arrive in Bacolod City on October 8, Iloilo province on October 9 and in Capiz and Aklan on October 10.
Earlier, Bediones said that Noynoy and Mar are scheduled to visit Capiz this coming Saturday, October 3, to attend the opening salvo of Indigenous People’s Festival 2009, a national affair hosted by Capiz province, however, it was postponed because of the calamity.
The Board Member said that on October 10, Noynoy and Mar are scheduled to meet with supporters in 1st district of Capiz at Capiz Gym in Villareal Stadium at 8:00 a.m.
He added that the two senators will also proceed to Sigma at around 10:30 to meet with political leaders of 2nd district’s five towns and then they will also go to Mambusao to meet supporters from another 5 towns. After the Capiz sorties they will proceed to Kalibo, Aklan.
