Tan resigns as NCR-LTO chief to focus on political plans
BACOLOD CITY — National Capital Region Land Transportation Office (LTO-NCR) chief Ricardo ‘Kano’ Tan, a Bacoleño, has tendered his resignation effective Wednesday, October 28, to give focus on his political plan this coming 2010 elections.
Tan said he wanted to focus his attention right now as the filing of certificate of candidacy becomes nearer.
“I want to be with my people as early as possible although I have also time for them every Saturday and Sunday after my work in Manila,” he added.
Tan who is still in Manila right now is banking on the idea that it is better to prepare as early as today for the people to remember him during the election.
“My resignation is also a clear manifestation that I am serious with my plan next year to erase the speculations that I’ll withdraw again,” he stressed.
Tan has been tagged lately that after his declaration to run he withdrawn because he gave way to other probable candidates which were negotiated by allies.
He also denied reports that he will not run as congressman but vice-mayor under the ticket of MONO Team or Monico-Novero tandem of Lakas-Kampi CMD.
“Binutig na ya kag patalang nga mga istorya ang ila ginahambal nga magapapili ako vice-mayor,” he added.
Tan is a loyal member of the Kampi party but it is very impossible that he will join Congressman Monico Puentevella of Lakas-CMD.
He preferred to run as independent rather than to join Puentevella as the MONO Team already has Novero as congressional candidate on 2010.
“I have no mayor or vice-mayor but I have three councilors,” he said.
When asked who they are, Tan divulged that they are incumbent Councilor Celia Flor, Philip Montelibano, son of former Mayor and Governor Montelibano, and Atty. Jesus ‘JV’ Hinlo.
