Feriols tops 2009 Licensure Examination for Fisheries
Victor Marco Emmanuel N. Ferriols, a BS Fisheries 2008 graduate of UP Visayas and currently an MS Fisheries student topped the 2009 Licensure Examination for Fisheries Technologists with a rating of 89.00. Feriols graduated magna cum laude and was Class Valedictorian. He shared the top 10 spots with the following examinees from UP Visayas: Jose Marie F. Nasalga – 82.00 (Rank 3rd ); Anna Merlinna T. Fontanilla – 81.25 (Rank 5th); Geselle Frances P. Zeta – 80.75 (Rank 6th).
Other board passers from UPV were the following: Jarramay Arco, Ma. Irene C. Cabanilla, Charmaine Arni C. Cao, Quin Y. Clarito, Jo Annie D. Corvera, Leah May P. Dominguez, Lusminda C. Pacheco, and Harry R. Pedroso.
UP Visayas was also declared as top performing school in the recent examination with a 92% passing rate followed by Central Luzon State University with a 36% passing rate.
The examination was conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission through the Board of Fisheries in Manila, Iloilo, and Legazpi in October 2009. The members of the Board of Fisheries were Dr. Rogelio O. Juliano as Chairman; with Dr. Cesario R. Pagdilao and Dr. Catalino B. de la Cruz as members.
The Oathtaking Ceremony of successful examinees will be held at the Manila Hotel, Rizal Park, Manila on November 30, 2009. (Anna Razel L. Ramirez)
