Gov’t career officers confab ‘09 set
The 2009 Career Executive Service (CES) annual convention from November 10-13, Sarabia Manor Hotel this city will focus on health and wellness and meeting challenges in leadership today.
The conference, which is guided by the theme “From BAC to Basics of Strategic Management: Meeting CES Leadership Challenges”is under the auspices of the Career Executive Service Board (CESB) with the National Union of Career Executive Service Officers (NUCESO) as partner.
Memorandum Circular No. 182, signed by Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita authorized the participation of government executive officers in the various activities of the conference, which are intended to enhance their performance and effectiveness in the job.
CESB Executive Director Maria Anthonette Allones said the conference will consist of plenary sessions and multi-track learning seminars to impart relevant frameworks, fundamental tools, systems and innovative ideas, with simultaneous sessions on the Economy, Environment, Education and E-governance.
Invited speakers will handle various topics, with each day of the sessions to begin with physical fitness/wellness activities which will be highlighted by a lecture forum with Ms. Cory Quirino on the third day.
A leadership dialogue with 2010 Presidential aspirants is also included in the program, which will deal with performance, politics and progress.
Included in the topics in a multi-track simultaneous sessions are Globalization and the Economy, Coping with Climate Change, Education and Lifelong Learning, ICT and Development, and Competency Enhancement.
Special events like a Testimonial Dinner, Fellowship Night, Launching of CES Hymn, and Tribute to Retirees will also be held. (PIA6/ESS)
