A Mass Baptism
Filamer Christian College & Capiz Emmanuel Hospital’s joint mass water baptism
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Filamer Christian College (FCC) and Capiz Emmanuel Hospital (CEH) held a “joint mass water baptism” last October 10, 2009, Saturday, 7 AM at the People’s Park, Baybay Beach here.
The service was led by Rev. Dr. Romeo Lorenzo and Rev. Dr. Expedito A. Señeres, FCC President, and Atty. Mariano A. Dioso, Chairman, Board of Trustees of both FCC and CEH welcomed everybody.
Rev. Bonifacio B. Odiaman, CEH Chaplain, gave the brief meditation of God’s Word. The new chaplain of FCC, Pastor Riel John D. Rafols, offered prayer for the candidates for Baptism. The officiating ministers of the baptism were: Rev. Jerry Lamason, Executive Minister of the Capiz Kasapulanan of Baptist Churches, Inc (CKBC); Pastor Joshua Soneta, Youth Pastor of Capiz Evangelical Church (CEH); Rev. Elias Egida, Head Pastor of Immanuel Assembly Church; Pastor Arthur Barbasa of Roxas City Christian Missionary Alliance Church and Rev. Lorenzo, Rev. Odiaman, Pastor Rafols.
Forty-two newly baptized Christians were gladly welcomed by Jessie Contreras, CEH Hospital Administrator, while Rev. Egida rendered the prayer of blessing and benediction.
The Gideons International Roxas City camp headed by Brother Wilfredo Sunsona and its loyal members and auxiliary gave as gifts the Golden Edition of the Old and New Testaments Bible to the new converts.
Also present during the event were: FCC Board of Trustees members, staff and students; CEH BOT members and employees; Mr. Renulo Legada, president of Capiz Kasapulanan of Baptist Churches; Dr. Nilo Delfin, FCC vice president for administration; Dr. George Cortel, vice president for academic affairs; Capiz Evangelical Church members; Pastor Alejandro of the Age of Grace Christian Fellowship; guests and friends.
As the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ told us: “Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and. Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of age!” (Matthew 28:19-20)
